What’s a Wilderness Li’l Squirt?
Type: lil squirts

Wilderness Li’l Squirts are our special little guests who are ages 4 and under. These li’l ones have tons of energy and love to splash and play with their family. With all of the exciting fun at the Wilderness waterparks, plus the demands of  vacationing with young ones, it might be overwhelming to plan the best places for the Li’l Squirts to enjoy.  Below are our top picks for the best places to play with your Li’l Squirt!

No additional details.

Li’l Squirts Pick #1: New Frontier Outdoor
Type: lil squirts

The Bear Foot Island Sprayground  features a fun area reserved for children under 48″ tall and their parents. There are pine trees spraying water, giant bull frog arches and silly water bug sprayers.  The lazy river surrounding the sprayground helps prevent little ones from wandering off and there are plenty of loungers to offer parents and kids ample relaxing space. The surface of the new sprayground is lightly padded and textured to help soften and prevent spills.

Toddler’s Cove, zero-depth play area, known for its giant mushroom, is a long-standing  popular pick for outdoor shallow water fun! There are infant tree swings, small slides, bubbling, splashing geysers and small animals to play around.

Quotes from parents of Li'l Squirts about New Frontier:

  • "Our kids loved this park when they were really little and they still love it now. It is a tradition for this to be the first park we visit when we come to The Wilderness."
  • "I like the baby swings in the kiddie area. "
  • "We have twin 3 year olds and we have a blast at New Frontier. We can play in the shallow area without worrying or put them in life jackets and go in the pool by the waterfall."
Li’l Squirts Pick #2: Klondike Kavern
Type: lil squirts

Offering so much fun all in one park, Klondike Kavern features Bonanza Bluff, a massive structure with 50 spray features and several slides all of which are centered in a huge shallow pool of water. There are little slides for toddlers, low spray features and for the braver tots, a 4-foot slide to splash down! Grab a double tube or double-up on a single for a ride around Bonanza Brook, the 400 foot lazy river. Kodiak Kanteen eatery is handy for quick snacks and there are bathrooms with changing rooms.

Quotes from parents of Li'l Squirts about Klondike Kavern:

  • "We love riding together on the lazy river.  And we always go to the duck races that they have in the morning before the park opens. They get to keep their ducks and when we are back home, our kids play with them during bath time."
  • "Klondike is our favorite waterpark for our 3 year old because there are little slides and he likes to run under and around the big fort-structure that the bigger kids are playing on."
  • "Klondike Kavern....the little ones have the smaller slides and the climbing area and of course they all love the dumping bucket. Even the big kids like that! "
Lil Squirt Pick #3: Wild WaterDome Indoor
Type: lil squirts

The Wild WaterDome  features Mini Mammoth’s Cove ‘zero-depth’ play lagoon for the smaller ones with water jets, spraying fountains & slides. Plus it is right next to the wave pool so little ones can wade near the ‘shore’  where the waves are just lapping at their toes.

Quotes from Parents of Lil Squirts about the Wild WaterDome:

  • "I like that there is an eatery right next to the Cove with lots of convenient choices - handy for 'crabbies' caused by low blood sugar. For me or my kids!"
  • "The restrooms (with changing rooms) are literally a few feet from the play area which helps with quick urges."
  • "We have 3 boys, ages 9, 7 and 3. We like the Dome best because the older ones can go on the slides and in the wavepool with my wife and I can sit back and relax in the kiddie area with our youngest son."
  • "The WaterDome is our top pick because of the cabanas. It is a great place to dry off, eat, and maybe even take a nap while the rest of the group keeps going. It's a nice central location."
Li’l Squirts Pick #4: Lost World Outdoor
Type: lil squirts

Lost World is our biggest waterpark, but don’t let that intimidate you! That just means there is more to explore with your little ones! There is a great zero-depth play area with a big dumping bucket, little spray features and fountains, little dinosaurs and slides. Ready for a swimming lesson? Head over to one of the pools, and feel free to bring along your own life jackets or borrow one of ours. Then take a ride together on the lazy river that goes up hill, down and through bubbling ‘rapids’.

Quotes from parents of Li'l Squirts about Lost World:

  • "Lost World for sure...My son likes the fountains that come up from the bottom... he doesn't like the dumping bucket but loves watching his sister run from it!"
  • "You can't beat Lost World. We always come with our entire extended family...there are 8  kids in our group from babies up to 10 years old. There's the shallow play area, the lazy river and regular pools to play in so everyone is happy."
Li’l Squirts Pick #5: Wild West Indoor
Type: lil squirts

The Wild West indoor waterpark has swings for infants to dangle their toes in the water, a two-story gold-mine-themed play structure with lots of shallow water, small slides and squirting blasters. The bumper boats get lots of laughs with a li’l squirt as your co-pilot!

Quotes from parents of Li'l Squirts about Wild West:

  • "We have 5 kids ages 11, 6, 4, 2, & 1. We spend most of our time at the Wild West. It has something for every age group. Also, it's not as stressful since if one of the kids do get away there are very few deep water areas."
  • "My boys (4 year old twins) loved Wild West Waterpark."
  • "The Wild West is our favorite (kids ages 0-5)....just a lot to do without getting bored!"
Li’l Squirts Pick #6: Cubby’s at Wilderness on the Lake
Type: lil squirts

Cubby’s indoor park is ideal for little tykes with its large, shallow-water play area complete with play structure, lily pads and small slides. Outdoors, there is another play area  with animals and geysers and of course, the large infinity pool overlooking Lake Delton.

Quotes from parents (and grandparents) of Li'l Squirts about Cubby's Cove:

  • "We stay at Wilderness on the Lake where I really enjoy it. Scenery is beautiful. Grandsons and their Uncle go to the main water parks and spend most of the day there. My daughter and I spend our time in the infinity pool and just sitting on the deck watching boats, ski do's and other activities on the lake. It is always the highlight of our year."
  • "Our kids love Cubby's Cove at the Lake. It is a smaller park and there are usually less people. They like the slides the best."
  • "We have four kids ages 2,6,7 & 9. We have been coming to The Wilderness since our youngest was 2 years old. We discovered Wilderness on the Lake and now we stay there every year - Cubby's Cove is just right for all of our kids."
