Wilderness Construction Information

We wouldn’t be America’s Favorite Waterpark Resort if we didn’t keep things fresh!

On Monday, September 2nd, we said goodbye to an old favorite…the Wild Canyon Cafe. Once known as “The Mother Lode” and re-branded to the cafe, we are now starting from scratch this time and doing some major restructuring for our new dining experience which will open this holiday season.

Sit-down dining and breakfast options will be available daily at  Survivor’s Bar and Grill (located above the Wild WaterDome) and on select days at the Thirsty Buffalo Saloon (located near the Wild West waterpark) during peak occupancy periods.

We will also be updating the New Frontier lobby area by expanding our guest services desk, adding a candy store, re-imagining our gift shop and changing the pavement approach to the entrance. This will allow our shuttle buses to pick-up and drop-off right at the lobby.  We expect this to be completed by the end of this year.

FAQs

Will the New Frontier lobby be closed?

The New Frontier Guest Services desk will be closed weekdays during some of the construction.

Where can I check-in if New Frontier is closed?

If you are staying at the hotel, cabins, condos or villas, please check in at the Wild West Lobby.
If you are staying at Glacier Canyon Lodge or at Wilderness on the Lake, there is no change.

Where can we have breakfast now that Wild Canyon Cafe has closed?

Survivor’s will now be serving breakfast from 7 am-11 am. On weekends or other times when the hotel is at a high occupancy, Thirsty Buffalo will also serve breakfast from 7 am-11 am.

In addition, Bean Bodega Fresh Market (Glacier) and OP’s Coffee and Fresh Market have added hot breakfast sandwiches and hash browns to their already popular giant muffins, doughnuts, yogurt, fruit and other breakfast items. And, of course, the Starbucks Coffee drinks!
