KINDNESS ROCKS…PASS IT ON
Next time you are at the resort, keep your eyes out for Kindness Rocks hidden both indoors and out throughout the Wilderness Territory. These hand painted gems were created with the philosophy that one message, at just the right moment, could change someone’s entire day…week… or even year.
Wilderness employees started creating and hiding the Kindness Rocks this fall in an effort to bring a little more joy to our complex world. They are meant to tell our guests and fellow resort employees – “you matter”. If you find a rock you can keep it or re-hide it. Either way, we’d like to encourage you to take a picture with it and post it with the hashtags #WildernessRocks and #TheKindessRocksProject on our Facebook page and as well as your personal social media.
The Kindness Rocks Project was created by Megan Murphy who likes to take long walks on the beaches of Cape Cod, searching for sea glass or heart shaped rocks in remembrance of her parents. One day, Megan took a Sharpie marker with her on her walk and wrote inspiring messages on a few of the rocks and left them on the beach. Later that night, a friend reached out to her after finding one of the rocks, and asked her if she had wrote the message. Megan denied it at first but then her friend told her that if she had written the message it had made her day. It was then that Megan knew she had stumbled upon a really easy way to promote random acts of kindness to unsuspecting recipients.
Since then, many have joined this Kindness Rocks movement and we’re hoping our guests will embrace it as well.
