Slideboarding just opened up at the Wilderness Resort…and this is a waterslide gaming experience that everyone needs to try!

I was invited to be one of the first people to try out the new ride and review it, and I had a blast! Over the past few months, the Wilderness took two of their waterslides within the Klondike Kavern Waterpark and turned them into Slideboarding rides! What exactly is Slideboarding? You sit on a Slideboard, which looks a little bit like a short surfboard with handles. On the handles are four buttons: Red, blue, yellow, and green. As you slide down the waterslide, different colored lights will appear in the tube of the waterslide. The goal is to press the button on your Slideboard handle that is the same color as the light you are going under! Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! At the end of the ride, you receive a score based on how accurately you hit the buttons as you traveled down the slide. It’s fun to race your friends and see who can get a higher score, which is posted on a big screen for everyone to see! Of course, I beat my friend Ashley who I was racing against!

When you pick up your board, before you head up the slide tower, you need to scan your wristband and your board. You need to come up with a cool username for yourself! I thought I’d be funny and picked Bieber1994. This name gets posted next to your score at the bottom of the ride. So choose wisely. Do you want some practice? There is a free Slideboarding application within the Apple App Store and on Google Play. You can choose to play the Wilderness Resort version or one of the other actual locations that now have Slideboards across the U.S. and Canada. I’d say playing the Slideboarding App for two weeks before trying out the slide really helped me get a higher score!

You must be at least 42 inches tall and under 300 pounds to try slideboarding. It is a single person ride. To check out more information on the new Slideboarding ride click here!
