We’d like to thank all of our valuable guests for submitting comment cards to recognize a Wilderness employee or manager for a job well done. We wanted to share with you how these cards really do make a difference! Results are compiled monthly, and together with our directors’ input, two employees are honored. Then on a quarterly basis, the resort also honors the two best employees and two best managers at the resort. Finally, once a year we select the “Employee of the Year” and “Manager of the Year” for having the ultimate “can-do-it” attitude and for exceeding guest expectations.
The 2018 “Guide of the Year” was Emily, who has been working in the aquatics department at the resort since 2012. According to her supervisors, “Emily has been a tremendous asset to the Aquatics team in the year since she was promoted to an administrative position. She works hard to make sure that everything in the department runs smoothly and has presented many ideas that we’ve adopted to improve our policies and procedures within the department. She is so deserving of this award.”
The resort’s 2018 “Manager of the Year” was Nicasio. He has been with the resort since 2010 and is currently serving as our internal cleaning manager. According to his director, “Nicasio has been in Housekeeping since 2010. He started as a housekeeper then became a room inspector and a supervisor. From there he quickly moved up and became an asst. housekeeping
manager. Once again, he flourished, and became the housekeeping manager for both the Villa/Lodge/Cabin Properties and the Wilderness on the Lake. He continues to strive for excellence within the department and always looks forward to improving the Wilderness in every way. He is a very valuable asset.”
Each year, we also recognize one outstanding employee and one manager for providing exceptional customer service. Their award is named S.T.A.R.S. (Striving to Achieve Remarkable Service).
The 2018 “S.T.A.R.S. Customer Service Employee of the Year” was Justin. He serves as our first assistant golf professional at Wild Rock Golf Club and according to his director, “Justin has become a very important part of the team. His knowledge of retail has helped develop Wild Rock’s golf shop into one of the state’s best. He also shares his love of the game with the two junior golf programs that he runs. His dedication and enthusiasm for Wild Rock help to continually keep us one of the top courses in Wisconsin.
Alyssa was named the resort’s 2018 “S.T.A.R.S. Customer Service Manager of the Year”. She has been serving as human resources manager since 2016. According to her director, “Alyssa has been a tremendous asset to the Human Resources Department. She works hard to ensure everything in the department runs smoothly through policy and procedures or through instruction and training. She is always there to support any manager or lend a helping hand. She is always willing to go the extra mile for anyone. We are lucky and thankful to have her as a part of our human resources team and the Wilderness family.
We’d like to congratulate all of these fantastic employees and also thank each of them for a job well done!
