Checkout for all guest rooms is 11 a.m.
Any incidentals charges/balance dues that are not settled prior to the 11am checkout time will be charged to the credit card on file.
Late check-outs may incur fees (up to one night’s charge).
After 11am, departing guests may no longer room charge to their account.
Wristbands and use of the waterparks is still permitted through the end of the day.

There is $40/per person/per night Extra Person Charge assessed for each additional guest over the base amount.
Base amounts vary between each lodging option and are listed on our places to stay page as well as the maximum occupancy.
Children, ages 2 & under, stay free and do not need to be counted in the total number of guests occupying a unit.
- Guests ages 18 & older should be counted and included in the total as an adult.
- Guests ages 3-17 should be counted and included in the total as a child.
Yes. The Wilderness is an advance deposit resort.
All reservations require the first nights room rate as a deposit taken at the time of reservation. Any remaining balance due must be paid at check-in.
At the time of check-in, be ready to present the same credit card used for your deposit, along with a valid photo ID
Unfortunately pets are not allowed anywhere on the Wilderness Resort grounds, including Villas, Condos & Cabins. If you are in need of care for your pet, we recommend Pet Retreat (608) 253-6000 | Pets-Retreat.com. Pet Retreat is located in Wisconsin Dells, close to the Wilderness.
Note: The Wilderness Resort is not affiliated with Pet Retreat.
Our resort fee is a mandatory daily fee of $29.95 (plus tax) and covers costs associated with providing the highest level of service for our guests.
This fee provides support for items such as resort-wide green initiatives, in-room coffee, pool towel service, Timberland Playhouse (located inside Dodge ‘Em City), life jackets (made available in each waterpark), select daily WildKids activities, seasonal access to Wilderland activity and movie area, a discount coupon book for local attractions and more.
You must be at least 18 years of age to reserve a room. In addition, all occupants must also be at least 18 years of age or accompanied by their parent. Proof of age via government issued identification may be required at check-in for all occupants.
For guests renting our 4 Bedroom River Ridge Cabin, 4 Bedroom Cabin or Retreat, 5 Bedroom Retreat, 5 Bedroom Treehouse, 5 Bedroom Media Cabin, or 5 Bedroom Entertainment Cabin, there is a mandatory deposit of not less than $1000 which is required at the time of check-in.*
For guests renting our Villas, Frontier Condos, Wilderness on the Lake Condos & Glacier Canyon Lodge Condos, a deposit of $1000 is required for any/all adult and/or non-family group.*
*Deposits may be increased up to $3000 at management’s discretion in events such as bachelor/bachelorette parties, prom parties, fraternity/sorority socials and any activities deemed by management to be non-family oriented in nature.

We have several ADA accessible lodging options at our resort and we constantly stay up-to-date with the latest ADA codes, regulations, and requirements designed to ensure your stay with us is an enjoyable and comfortable one.
- Bed frames in our ADA units currently measure 6¼”-6 ¾” off the floor to the bottom of the bedframe
- Mattress height ranges from 26¼”-28½” (from the floor to the top of the comforter).
- Higher toilets (floor to seat height 18 ¾”)
- Toilet support bars
- Lowered bathroom/vanity sinks as well an those units that have kitchen counters (floor to top of sink 34”).
- Bathroom doors and entry doors widths are greater than standard rooms to allow a reasonable turning radius.
Some ADA units may include these select features:
- Roll-in showers.
- Bath tub with support bars, bath tub benches.
- Portable shower seats.
- Lowered peepholes.
- Lowered coat racks.
- Light alerts on in-room phones.
- Flashing strobe (if fire alarms are activated).
- Exterior door bells outside the units that alert occupants inside the room.
Properties, such as our main Hotel, feature eight entrances with elevator access. In total we have 299 handicapped parking stalls among our Dells properties.

Waterparks

Yes. The waterparks are included for each registered guest (not to exceed maximum occupancy for your room type).
Your waterpark wristbands are valid from the time you check-in until close on the day of your checkout.
Yes, pool towels are provided at each Waterpark area. (Don’t forget to bring your towel cards you received at check-in.)
You may also bring your own beach towels from home to use as well.
Yes. Tiburon Lockers™ are located in Klondike Kavern, Wild West, Wild WaterDome and Cubby’s Cove indoor waterparks and Lake Wilderness & Lost World outdoor waterparks on the park decks.
These lockers are electronic and can be paid for with exact cash or credit card at each locker bank kiosk.
Your resort-issued wristband will serve as your security credentials so there’s no key to keep track of or PIN to remember!
Up to 4 wristbands can be added to each locker rental to allow multiple group members access to a single locker.
As an added value, you can also “float” your locker rental, which means, you can move your rental from waterpark to waterpark for no additional charge!
All rentals terminate at the conclusion of each operational day.
Yes.
Changing rooms are located inside each of our indoor waterparks (Wild West, Klondike Kavern, Wild WaterDome and Cubby’s Cove).
During the summer months, we also have changing rooms located at our Lake Wilderness & Lost World outdoor waterparks.
Waterpark wristbands can be replaced at the Guest Service desk for a $40 replacement fee. Fee payable at the time of replacement and posted to the current reservation.
Yes. There are children’s life jackets available in 3 sizes (0-30 lbs, 30-50 lbs, and 50-90 lbs) in all our waterparks. They are available on a first come, first serve basis.
You may bring your own personal life jackets to use but they must be free of any exposed metal or sharp materials.
Life jackets are not allowed on any body slides for safety reasons.
The Swim Safe Program is a mandatory lifejacket policy for all children under 48 inches and is in effect at Cubby’s Cove indoor & outdoor waterparks at Wilderness on the Lake.
Complimentary use of lifejackets, in various sizes, will be made available. All children under 48 inches using either the indoor or outdoor waterpark will be required to wear a lifejacket at all times while in the parks.
Q: Why only the pools at Wilderness on the Lake, and not parks at the other resorts?
A: The proximity of the shallow kiddie pools to the much deeper activity pools in both the indoor and outdoor areas presents a unique scenario as compared to our other waterparks. This necessitates park-wide enforcement rather than pool specific enforcement.
Q: My child is a strong swimmer but under 48”. Can an exception be made?
A: Unfortunately, to consistently ensure the safety of all of our younger guests, there is no discretion built into this policy.
Q: Why the change in policy/approach?
A: Guest safety remains our number one priority and we feel taking this proactive step better ensures the safety of our younger guests.
Q: My child has their own lifejacket, life vest or personal flotation device (PFD). Can he/she use it?
A: Yes, your child may use his/her own device provided it is inherently buoyant and coast guard approved. Inflatable devices such as water wings do not meet our criteria and , therefore, will not be allowed in place of a coast guard approved device. Our staff may require your child to put on a resort provided lifejacket if his/her device does not meet our standards.
No. For the safety of all our guest as well as per Wisconsin Statute – food, drinks and glass are prohibited from being carried in to the pool areas; even if these items are contained in coolers.
Weather permitting, our outdoor waterparks open for the summer season starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

Wheelchairs are not available to rent or borrow through the resort.
